   Georgia’s Story

Hi my name is Georgia

and I am the inspiration behind this web-site…………………

My owner adopted me back in January 2008. She fell in love with me as soon as she saw me.
She already had 4 other dogs and one of them was the same as me a Dogue De Bordeaux so I couldn’t wait to go home with her.
The other dogs were saying hello to me but they were all so excited, Doreen realised that they would be too much for me to deal with in an already exciting and busy day.
So instead she gave me some yummy scrambled eggs and milk cuddled me up on her lap and I fell asleep.

Doreen took me to the vets and I had my first injections. The vet was ever so nice.
As soon as I was allowed Doreen took me out on adventures over the park and to the shops.
She also took me to Puppy School to learn lots of new things and everyone said I was top of the class.
Doreen also took me to ring craft where I learnt to be a show dog(I thought wow I’m a super model)

In my first Match night I won best puppy. I got lots of kisses and hugs and a special treat of chicken when I got home.
I also went swimming and loved it so much I didn’t want to go home.

I loved my life with Doreen and her other dogs. We would play in the garden and go on walks together. Ella (the cocker spaniel) was my best friend and we had so much fun together.
My favourite game was chasing leaves and feathers. And fetching my pink rope toy.

Doreen gave me lots of attention sitting in the garden on the swing seat with me, playing games and taking

me on adventures everyday.

Then I became ill. I got something called Epilepsy. This made me go lame on my front legs and my face would screw up. Doreen took me to the vet and he sent me to a special big hospital to have some tests done.
They put me on medication and I was fine for a little while, but then the fits started again.

They changed my medication and I was fine again.

In my very first show I had so much fun. There were so many dogs who looked just like me and they all wanted to say "Hello"
I qualified for Crufts. Doreen was crying with joy, and when I got home I told all the other dogs about it and we all had

Chicken Chow Mein.

I became more ill and the other dogs did not like it. I needed a lot of care and time so Doreen decided that it would be best if Honey and Angel went to live with some kind people so she could help me get better.

I started to walk funny and Doreen thought it might be the tablets I was on for the Epilepsy but the vet did some tests and found out that I had something called HD (Hip Dysplasia) This meant that my joints were not growing as they should.

As time went on I became worse and got tired very quickly. Doreen tried so many things to help me get better. She took me swimming gave me special tablets and massage. But nothing worked.

On the 1st September 2008 she took me to see Lyndon, the vet, to see what else he could do. I had been ill all weekend and Doreen was worried about me.
I was so tired, I didn’t want to play, or eat. I just wanted to lie down and sleep.
Lyndon said it was time for me to go to “The Bridge” and rest, and all the pain I was in would go.
So Doreen held me in her arms and I feel asleep. She kissed and cuddled me and had a little cry because she was going to miss me.
I fell asleep, and when I woke up I saw the bridge, “Rainbow Bridge”
There were lots of other dogs there playing and they welcomed me with lots of wiggly tails.

Now Doreen wants to help other dogs like me and help their owners get the help they need.

So every product she sells a £1 will be donated to a Dog charity.

See my Charity page for details.
